It’s always better to apply early as the competition simply intensifies with each passing year. I think you will probably have to compete with less number of applicants in 2009 than 2011. Moreover, the average work experience of any MBA class in a global business school is 5-7 years. Only around 10% of the batch will have an experience of 8 plus years.
Also the question is, when should you do your MBA? This is something you need to ask yourself because you alone know whether the right time to pursue a management programme is now or a couple of years later. This is because people normally opt for a management programme when they have identified certain skill gaps. Essentially, you have to assess if there are any gaps between what you are at present and what you aspire to be in the future and if an MBA can bridge effectively the gap between these two levels.
