Done with my Gmat..got just 700.verbal 36 and quants 49..well below my expectations.

I am not able to judge this score.. Do I need to retake the test? Need suugestions.. My profile:

10th - 88%

+2 - 79.2%

Btech in Metallurgical Engg from N.I.T. Rourkela(2006 Passout)

C.G.P.A. - 7.78

Currently working with Capgemini since 29Th Sept, 2006.



Any help will be gr8!

First of all congrats for commendable score.

Now let's try to understand your score in terms of percentile.

Score Percentile
790   99
780   99
770   99   
760   99   
750   99   
740   98
730   97
720   96   
710   95   
700   93   



math score: 51  percentile: 99
Verbal score: 36  percentile: 48 (You performed badly in verbal section.)


In my opinion if there is no specific reason as your score is pretty good. Now you need to focus on application process in place of GMAT.

Thank you for that candid reply. Can you please let me know which universities should I look out for? I would like to join the classes starting from 2009. Could you tell me where do I stand for universities like New York Unversity(Stern) or Chicago GSb etc.. (the schools of this level). What are the areas I should focus on right now? I have already posted the details of my profile. Please let me know if you need to know anything else.

Hi,

I am new to GMAT. I have a basic question here....
I know that there are 37Q's in math and 41Q's in verbal......I am confused of the score Verbal 36 and Quants 49 ??? ??? ???
Can somebody tell me!!!
