President of the United States: I have received over 2,000 letters on this issue, and the vast majority of them support my current position. These letters prove that most of the people in the country agree with me.

    The statement saying during elections president had a diffferent view on the same matter and he got elected . So people likely supported his initial views. Now president has a opinion of the same subject would weaken the statement for now saying he thinks most of the people support him.

    President’s conclusion is based on the figure of 2000 (no of people who wrote to him)… His assumption is that 2000 represents “most of the people”)

    we should look for an option which weakens the above mentioned assumption. I think option D does it well.

    There is no detail about the elections in the argument, however it may be true but we should not go out of the scope of the details given in the argument.
