Ans should be A…
as we dont have any other number other than 10 that could give the value 4.40$

1.First answer gives us two possible answers
Since 0.15a+0.29b=4.40 a and b can be 1)5;13 2 )10 ; 10
2.Second answers doesn’t give any exact answer

But if taken together the answer 10 to 10 can be riched

C is correct.
Either of them alone is sufficient, but when we put both of them together. x(0.15+0.29)=4.40 => x=10

BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

x(0.15+0.29)=4.40
x=10

Cant think of any other combination other than 10 - 10 stamps of each, to make total of 4.4$

hence, A is sufficient.

common guys…basic math 101 - 2 unknowns ( x = number of $0.15 stamps and y = number of $0.29 stamps) . Logic Says 2 unknowns can only be solved by 2 equations at least. Hence we need both (A) & (B) together to give an answer.
0.15x+0.29y = 4.4
x=y
==>.44x=4.4
==>x=10

.15n+.29n= 4.40
n= 4.40/.44=10
C is correct

Either is sufficient

D

Because the only way you can complete this equation

15N1 + 29N2 = 440

is if N1=N2= 10

A is correct

Since the numbers N1 and N2 have to be whole numbers, the only way 0.15N1 + 0.29N2= 4.40 is for N1=N2=10. So A is sufficient.

B is not sufficient, as we do not know the total amount spent. Joana could have bought 10 stamps of each kind, or 20, or even 30. etc..

I think A is the ans. There is only one way to come up with the total of $4.4. one of each. I just can’t think of any other combination.

Yes its A

Because only
10(15) + 10(29) = 440

There is no other way of solving the equation.

I think C is the right choice.
We need to take both statements into consideraion if we want to reach the answer. If we consider each 10 then also we have reached the conclusion by knowing that both nos are equal which is by the second statement.

Since we have two variables
$0.15X & 0.29 Y , so we need to have two equations to solve this
A) 0.15X + 0.29Y = 4.40, this alone is not sufficient
B) X =Y, This alone is also is no sufficient to solve
So we need both statements , to find out value of X & Y
0.44 X = 4.40 (since X =Y)
X = 10 = Y
C is the correct answer, Both the statements together are sufficent but nither statement alone is sufficient.
