  1. V Pat says:

    D ) EACH statement ALONE is sufficient
    10 percent of the sum of n and 5 is always greater….

  2. Krishna Mohan says:

    i agree with V Pat. Each alone is sufficient. D

  3. himakar says:

    a is ans
    if we take any numer lessthan 1 20% of it is always less than 10% of 5+less than 1
    if we take more than 1
    20% of 2=.4
    10% of 2+5= .7
    if we take n=40
    20% of 40=8
    10% of 40+5=4.5
    0.4less than .7
    8 is greater than 4.5

  4. OP says:

    Is 01 supposed to mean .01 (decimal point missing?). In which case, A could be the answer …

  5. A
    for the second case 0.1n + 0.5 > 0.2n only for n

  6. ka says:

    both alone

  7. reckless303 says:

    a

  8. AP says:

    Agree with Nrip and 303.

  9. sumanth toom says:

    A it is.
    The undoubt ans…:)

    we are trying to compare – .2n and .1(n + 5)

    ==> 0.2n ?? (0.1n + 0.5)
    Substracting 0.1n from both sides.
    ==> 0.1n ?? 0.5
    Multiplying by 10 on both sides..
    ==> n ?? 5…
    so it boils down to whether n is lessthan, equal or greater than 5.
    Option 1, n 1, can be 4 or 6, so doesn’t answer the Q.

  10. Arun says:

    Ans: D.
    can any1 explain why B cant answer the question?

    Take the Gmat, Please provide the answer.

  11. sohan says:

    my ans is A…. in second statement n can be more than 10

  12. rao says:

    Unable to understand. Can some one exlain in detail

  13. duke says:

    Arun here is the explaination on why i can not be B

    n>.001 What if n = 200
    20% n = 40
    10% + .05 = 20.05

    now what if n = .01
    20% n = .002
    10% + .05 = .001 + .05 = .051
    So the B is not conclusive. Hence A only..

  14. archana says:

    hey i think its D…………..how can it be A can anyone explain me…..
