In 1997 there were 300 female employees at Company C. If the number of female employees at Company C increased by 60 percent from 1997 to 1987, by what percent did the number of female employees at Company C increase from 1987 to 1997?
(1) From 1977 to 1997 the number of female employees increased by 200 percent at Company C.
(2) In 1977 there were 100 female employees at Company C.
A) Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B) Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C) BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D) EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E) Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

It should be B)
1) This option says the percent increase in number of female emp as 200. But we do not know whether this percentage represents the average % increase or not. What i mean by that is
(60+340)/2 = 200 % or else it could be 60% and 140%. We are not given sufficient info.
2) This option gives no. of female emp. in 1977 as 100 from which we can calculate the % increase from 1987 to 1997 using all the given data in the question.
