GMAT Question of the Day : Data Sufficiency

Is B^3 is greater than or equal to B^2.

(1) B is an integer.
(2) B is positive.

A) Statement 1 alone is sufficient but statement 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.B) Statement 2 alone is sufficient but statement 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.

C) Both statements 1 and 2 together are sufficient to answer the question but neither statement is sufficient alone.

D) Each statement alone is sufficient to answer the question.

E) Statements 1 and 2 are not sufficient to answer the question asked and additional data is needed to answer the statements.

I got this wrong by answering B. I forgot to test the cases where B is a non-integer value between zero and one (as tec points out three posts above).

Just goes to show the importance of testing all edge cases!

check it out both statements are sufficient on their own…

B+ as well as B as integer to answer “is B^3 is greater than or equal to B^2″
