  1. Michael Denteh says:

    A

  2. i think the ans is A

  3. pragya says:

    I think its B, Admin please explain…

  4. Manoranjan says:

    I would go for A.

Present perfect (has + verb-ed] would be preferred over simple present (is) because it’s talking abt something that started at some unspecified time in the past and going on at present.

Hence eliminate D and E. Out of A B andd C, I think A is idomatically correct has been “so rapid that”…
    Hence A..
Can anyone post the official answer pls..

  5. nakul_mukerjee says:

    A

  6. anupam says:

    E / A ??

  7. unknown13 says:

    answer is A
becasue not is to be used as the event is contiued in the past and continuing till present

    regards

  8. gmatguru says:

    Going with A here…

  9. vishalsmantri says:

    a

e doesnot fit as it shows ongoing process, which actually is not.

  10. Wael Salman says:

    A is wrong.

It is right to use perfect present , but if you take a look on the answer “(A) “has been so rapid that it is sometimes” – you will see “it” and it is not so clear what it refers to, evolution or technology.

In B “has been rapid enough sometimes to be” – there is no “it” and it iso direct and clear that we are talking about revolution.

    So answer is B.

  11. Ashish says:

I think the answer is ‘B’.

  12. raj says:

    b

because this is an ambigous sentence ….v dont knw here wht “it” refers to…

  13. Akshit says:

    Its A ,

The sentence is read as The evolution of (technology…..) has been so rapid that it is sometimes….

So, we know that “it” refers to evolution and not to technology.

TakeGMAT Team , please clarify on this.

    Thanks

  14. nidhi soni says:

    a

  15. pareshpandit says:

    A

  16. Arun says:

    I would go with A.

“Has been so rapid that” sounds idiomatic right.
B- rapid enough sometimes- sounds like the growth has been rapid sometimes in the past.
c- close enough to the answer, but A sounds more appropriate with “That”
    d,E- changes tense.

  17. Ramandeep says:

I expect takegmat team to provide answers to tough and confusing questions. Those type of questions are pretty easy.
Can take gmat team start confirming the answers of sentence correction ques that was put in 2 days earlier for which people still dont have any answer.

  18. Ramz says:

Answer is A because that is clear.

with B you have a serious flaw:
Is “sometimes” for the rapid evolution
or is “sometimes” for the alternative name that is used for it.

  19. Deepak says:

    I will go with A.

  20. nothimpossible says:

    a

  21. kapil says:

REASONING IS VERY SIMPLE AS THIS STATEMENT IS IN PAST CONTINUES TENSE that is one thing happened and is still continuing so “has been” is used for such cases, so D AND E is eliminated. now B and C sounds wrong, thus answer is A

  22. debshuvra says:

The answer is A, as evolution is something that happens over a long course of time and is still continuing in the present in the above sentence. The use of present perfect tense is correct.

  23. Pavan says:

Answer is A. Evolution is still in its process and has started earlier. So a participle is required.
