If x and y are positive integers, what is the value of xy?

(1) The greatest common factor of x and y is 10.
(2) The least common multiple of x and y is 180.

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

    For any 2 given numbers x,y ; x * y = (LCM)(GCD)

    product of two numbers = L.C.M. x H.C.F

    so xy = L.C.M. b/w x and y x H.C.F b/w them

    hence correct ans is: C

    i) 10,20 or 10,30 either is possible – hence not suffient
    ii)1, 180 or 10, 180 either is possible – not suffiecient

    Both taken together work
